The 5-second verdict
Tube8 runs the standard free-tube ad stack: popunder scripts, five tracking hosts, nine third-party calls. No redirects or autoplay-sound, but the phone layout is broken and the page isn't quiet.
- Best for
- Desktop viewers who tolerate ads for free streaming
- The catch
- Loads a known popunder script and five ad/tracking hosts, plus the mobile layout breaks entirely.
What we measured

- Loads known popunder / ad-network scripts
- 3 ad slots on the landing page
- Overflows a phone-sized screen
- 5 known ad / tracking hosts
- Contacts 8 third-party domains on load
Last checked: Sep 7, 2026
Upsides
- No forced redirects on first click
- No autoplay with sound
- No signup wall to browse
- HTTPS on the landing page
Downsides
- Loads a known popunder/ad-loader script
- Five known ad/tracking hosts detected
- Nine third-party domains contacted
- Unusable on a 390px phone screen
Tube8 is one of the long-running free tubes, and its landing page behaves like most of that category: three ad slots, a popunder loader script, and a handful of tracking domains riding along in the background. Nothing here is unusual for the genre, but it's not clean either.
On the plus side, there's no first-click redirect, no autoplay-with-sound trap, and the whole catalogue sits behind HTTPS without a signup wall forcing you to register before you can browse. Those are the basics done right.
The bigger practical problem is the mobile layout, which simply doesn't render usable on a 390px screen. Combined with five known ad/tracking hosts and nine third-party contacts, this is a site to browse with an ad blocker running, not bare.
